ITINERARY

DAY 1 Departure for Río Blanco, a town located at 1,250 meters in the Andes.
The trek begins along an old dirt road, slowly gaining altitude and then following a trail that leads through swamps and some Quillayes and Maitenes forests. The journey will take us along a path of low vegetation typical of the high Andes. The sensation of altitude will be impressive as the landscape becomes very Andean and beautiful. Slowly, the vegetation will be left behind and the spectacular Andes mountain range will emerge. After 7 hours, we will arrive at Vegas del Chano, located at 2,600 meters above sea level. In this beautiful valley of green grass, we will set up camp. Night in a tent, barbecue, and campfire.

DAY 2 Departure at 9:30 am to the Aconcagua viewpoint located at 3,200 meters above sea level. The trail will go through a narrow mountain valley, full of steps and scenic surprises. The adjacent mountains of 4,000 meters above sea level will be increasingly appreciated. (Espinazo del Diablo 3,200 meters, Alto de Los Leones, 5,800 meters, Yeguas Heladas. 5000 meters) We will walk along trails with little vegetation. Around 12:00 noon we will arrive at the Aconcagua viewpoint. Suddenly, a spectacular window will open up where the mountain range frame will leave us perplexed by so much Andean beauty. After taking the obligatory photos, we will return to base camp by the same route. Dinner at 6 p.m. and camp.

DAY 3 After a hearty breakfast, we'll arrange our gear and load the mules for the return trip at 10:00 a.m. The landscape will change this time, even though we'll be following the same paths we took on the way out. The perspective, however, will be different, but it will still continually amaze us. Return to Río Blanco at 4:00 p.m. Arrival in Santiago at 7:00 p.m.
